Premium Resources: Individual Downloads & Bundles

When our resources are purchased individually or as bundles through globalmetacognition.com or metacognition.education they include a limited whole-school license by default. This allows up to 50 school staff to use the resources and refers only to the school or organisation the purchaser works for at the time of the purchase.

In other words: resources must not be shared outside of the school the customer works for at the time the order is made. Resources can be shared within a school or organisation (for example, on a shared drive) and used by up to 50 users. Distribution of purchased resources outside of your school or organisation is strictly forbidden. Resources purchased via external hosts such as 'TES' or 'TeachersPayTeachers' do not include a whole-school license and are only for use by individual teachers.

Resources Downloaded Via Membership Plans & The Member's Area:

Membership plans allow plan holders access to our complete range of metacognition & self-regulation resources via the Member's Area, the license for these resources depends on the selected plan:

  • The 'Individual Teacher' Plan includes a single-user license: the resources are to be used by one teacher (or user) only, they can use the resources with as many students as they like but the resource may not be shared with other teachers under any circumstances. This plan is aimed at individual teachers wishing to enhance their teaching practice: it cannot be used by any other members of the department or school in which that user teaches.

  • The 'Department License' Plan allows for a maximum of 15 users (probably teachers) to use the downloaded resources with as many students as they like: resources are for one department in one school and cannot be shared or used outside of that department or school.

  • The 'Whole-School License' Plan allows for a maximum of 200 users (probably teachers) to use the downloaded resources with as many students as they like: this plan is designed as a whole-school solution so that plan-holders can share the downloaded resources within their school. Sharing resources outside of the school (for example, through Social Media) is not allowed.

Membership plan holders have complete access to all our teaching and in-house CPD resources: so long as their plan is valid they have immediate access to future resources as they are released.

We have released an online training course via the external site 'Udemy', access to these online training materials is not included as a part of the Individual or Department membership plan and must be purchased separately on the Udemy website.

Refunds & Returns

We Do Not Offer Refunds

All digital product sales, membership plan purchases, and membership plan subscription payments are final and no refunds are available: this is due to the 'digital download' nature of our products and is a measure to prevent the theft of our copyrighted materials. We do not offer refunds under any circumstances.

Membership plan subscriptions can be cancelled by the subscriber at any time thus preventing future subscription renewal and future charges - but subscription payments will not be refunded under any circumstances. This is clearly stated both on the 'Sign-Up' page and during the Membership Plan sign-up process and is not negotiable. If you need assistance in cancelling your membership plan please use the 'Contact Us' page and we will cancel the plan on your behalf in a timely fashion. Subscription payments are taken annually.

As a customer, it is your responsibility to determine that you have the appropriate hardware/software to make use of digital files and that the file format is appropriate for your needs. For example, almost all our resources require Microsoft Office (Word and/or PowerPoint) and some require software to read and print .pdf files. Larger .zip files need to be extracted using freely available compression software such as WinRar or 7-Zip. Likewise, buyers are responsible for ensuring they have the required printing facilities to make use of our products: this is especially pertinent when buying printable workbooks. No refunds are available in these cases.

The Global Metacognition Institute may, in its sole discretion, make certain exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis, for example if a digital file is seriously defective and the defect cannot be repaired. In cases where a digital file is defective: we will always strive to remedy the situation and ensure functioning resources are offered as a replacement in a timely fashion.

Udemy Course

As of 04/11/2020 Whole-
School Plans now entitle users to a special voucher-code-link that allows for free access to our Udemy course. The purpose of these voucher code links is to allow teachers and staff members free access to the Udemy course: the link is not to be shared outside the organisation purchasing the Whole-School Plan. For more information about the course you can view it here. Please note that registering an account with Udemy (and accepting their Terms & Conditions) is a prerequisite for being able to sign-up for the course.

Due to some limitations inherent to the Udemy voucher-code system: the special links we send out expire after 3-days. It is therefore important to have your staff register and sign-up for the course within 3-days of receiving the link (though, once registered, they can complete the course in their own time). We are happy to send more of the 'voucher links' in order to get all of your teaching staff on board if some fail to register in the first three-day window, but please note that, due to technical limitations of the Udemy system, we can only create three per month! For this reason, especially if we are receiving a high-volume of requests, please allow for up-to ten days for voucher-code links to be sent out.
